Matthew 3:11

I baptize you with water to show that you have repented, but the one who will come after me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

The Spirit of God is the Spirit of power. Baptism with fire brings illumination in the darkest corners of our lives. With that power and enlightenment, our eyes are opened, our prejudices removed, we see God’s truth.

    In these daily reflections during Advent we affirm that Christ has come to us, that he is truly present in the world today and that he will come again in awesome power. During this Advent season we celebrate God’s incarnation and we hold on to our hope in his future kingdom.
