Luke 1:38

“I am the Lord’s servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.”

Mary says “Your will be done.” She says ‘yes’ to the unknown, ‘yes’ to God’s challenge. Mary risks her marriage, her reputation, maybe her life. Lord, help us to remove those things in our own lives which may prevent us from saying ‘yes’ to you.

    God our redeemer, who prepared the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of your Son; grant that, as she looked for his coming as our saviour, so we may be ready to greet him when he comes again as our judge; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever
