Away From It All (AFIA) is a Mothers’ Union holiday scheme, primarily funded by our members, to give the opportunity of a break to those who have experienced trauma or are living with everyday stress in their family life.
On average, in Devon we have sent families on over 90 holidays and we plan to keep this number growing!
Families, couples or friends are able to spend time together away from their stressful situations at home, engage in activities together and have fun.
They often experience healing in their relationships by spending this quality time with each other.
Our AFIA scheme is not only aimed at families but to anybody who is in need of a little time out. Whether this may be a close friend, neighbor, widow/ widower or family. We welcome the chance to help anyone who needs us.
Anyone hoping to enjoy an AFIA holiday will need to be referred to our team and then an application will be started based on the individuals needs. You don’t have to be a member of a church or our organisation. We will try to find the most suitable holiday for your situation, because everyone is different!
