Everyone enjoys a holiday but not everyone can afford one, especially with children or when there are disabled members in a family.
Through a wide variety of events, our members can help an average of 20 families each year. It is wonderful to hear a mum say “The holiday was a brilliant way to recharge myself. A massive thank you Mothers’ Union for helping me relax and smile again”
An elderly couple on holiday while their disabled son was in hospital responded “We had a lovely social time with other people, we are so grateful to Mothers’ Union”
Who can benefit from a holiday?
Families can be recommended for ‘Away from it All’ holidays by social or health workers, clergy, children’s centres, other agencies or by anyone aware that a break away from home is all that someone needs to keep going with the difficulties in their life . Usually families go to the seaside through the generous support of Haven holidays, but where another type of holiday may be more appropriate we are still able to help. They are assured of high class accommodation where no one will know they are sponsored by a charity.
