As you browse through our website we hope you will find plenty of information about our organisation in the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire area.
We are part of the worldwide organisation which has 4 million members in 83 countries worldwide and we aim to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities through the nurture of family in its many forms.
Mothers’ Union was set up by Mary Sumner in 1876 when she saw that young mothers needed help to bring up their children in the love of God.

Today, we continue to promote and support marriage and encourage parents in their role to develop the faith of their children.  Through prayer, programmes, policy work and practical action we hope to promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.  We also support families when times are difficult too.

Our members are not all women and not all mothers and are of all ages.  Members work at the grassroots level in hundreds of projects that meet local needs.
