What We Do

Our aim and purpose is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of families in their many forms. Our members carry this out in a variety of ways, by meeting for fellowship and prayer, by volunteering for local projects, by befriending and helping people around them, and by campaigning for a better and fairer life for families, and by fund raising

  • We run AFIA Away from it all Holidays
  • Do support work in prisons.
  • Run a contact center in Retford
  • Assist with Time Traveling at the Minster.
  • Run and help with Toddler and other young peoples activites.
  • Run parenting courses and have a number of trained facilitators. and a whole host of other things.

Members pray for each other and for members throughout the world. see Wave of Prayer and have fast communication around the Diocese when there is a particular need.

Mothers’ Union aims to encourage, support and strengthen family life – and the family today takes many different forms.

We take seriously Jesus’ discussion with his disciples:

‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
Jesus replied, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’
