Praying
As Christians we know the importance of prayer – in our personal lives, as we support one another and as an essential foundation for our work as a charity. But we sometimes need help to engage effectively in prayer. We value guidance in articulating our thoughts and forming our requests; we can benefit from ideas to find appropriate space for prayer and ways in which we can encourage each other. It is good to be reminded of the truth of what prayer achieves and that God loves to hear our prayers and is ready to answer our requests, in his time and in his way.
When a believing person prays, great things happen.” James 5:16
Enabling
Through a wide variety of initiatives, our members enable the strengthening of family life and local communities across Norfolk and Waveney. From relationship workshops, toddler groups and prison work to hospital support and holidays, we actively reach out to support all ages at all stages in life.
We know how isolating it can be when you are at home with very young children. We want to encourage parents to come and meet one another. Members are committed to helping young families make friends and adjust to becoming parents for the first time. In times of stress a listening ear is helpful and members can point parents in the right direction for help if needed.
Christian care for families is what we are about –enabling loving , respectful and flourishing relationships”
Campaigning
Our members campaign locally on issues of importance and join together to take part in national and global campaigns promoting equality and justice. From the commercialisation of childhood, to gender equality and violence against women and girls, we challenge governments to recognise the impact of their policies on family life. Proverbs 31: 8-9 tells us to: “Make our views heard… pronounce an upright verdict, defend the cause of the poor and the destitute.”
