Our Mary Sumner Day Fish and Chip Lunch was a great success with 49 of us [including two members’ grandsons joining us] attending although it was not on Tankerton Slopes as it had rained and so would be damp under foot.  We met in St John’s Parish Centre and the occasion started with mid day prayers and then the lunches were collected and distributed to everyone.  A photo below shows some of the members who attended.  Our next occasion was our second Branch Officers meeting on 5th September.  Unfortunately we did not get as good a turn out as before but it was still a good meeting and we again had mid day prayers followed by lunch together.  We then had a wonderful service in Holy Trinity Church, Margate on 29th September when 6, yes 6, new members were enrolled. We had our Quiet Day on Monday 14th October at Minster Abbey, Thanet led by Judith Dimond who is a lay member of St Martin and St Paul’s Church, Canterbury.  33 of us gathered for a very reflective day and it is hoped to hold another one sometime in the future.  Finally, we had another enrolment on 23rd October at St Mildred’s Canterbury when another new member was enrolled so we are slowly increasing.

Pictures are in the Winter newsletter due out in December.
