Launch of the “Bye Buy Childhood” postcard at the Senedd.

Were you watching BBC Wales TV news at 6.30pm on Wednesday 24th October? You would have seen M.U. members from all over Wales gathered at the Senedd for the launch of the bilingual post card to be used whenever we wish to register our dissatisfaction with the content of programmes shown before the watershed (9.00pm).

Bangor Diocesan President Mrs Kath Broadbent spoke about the importance of the Bye Buy Childhood campaign in tightening regulations, challenging parents to complain, and promoting “children being allowed to be children”. Janice Gregory A.M. had organised the launch in the Senedd and was joined by other AMs.

MU members were delighted that the Archbishop of Wales, the Most Revd Barry Morgan was also present. Postcards are available from MU members, members of the public are welcome to use them too.

  • Bangor Diocese

The diocese of Bangor covers the whole of the north-western quarter of Wales and is roughly co-terminous with the ancient kingdom of Gwynedd.

It extends from the port of Holyhead in the north to the rural market town of Llanidloes in the south; from the holy island of Bardsey in the west to Llandudno in the east, along the North Wales coastal strip; behind which lies Snowdonia and the most mountainous areas of Wales.
