Joining Mothers’ Union in Bangor Diocese

Membership of the MU is open to all who have been baptised in the name of the Holy Trinity and who declare their support for the Aims and Objectives of the society.

When Mary Sumner set up a “mothers’ union” in 1876, could she have envisaged the MU as it is today?

  • More than four million members in over eighty countries, all working towards improving family life in our communities through practical help and prayer.
  • A global voice, influencing such issues as international debt and family welfare. Vital outreach projects – in prisons, child contact centres, hospitals, refugee camps – in fact wherever there is a need.
  • Members worldwide united in prayer and fellowship.

Membership Enquiries

In the Bangor diocese, there are two ways of joining MU. You may join a local branch as a Branch Member and attend monthly meetings, or  if, however, you are unable or unwilling to attend regular meetings you may become a Diocesan Member and be kept in touch by letter or email.
